みなさんこんにちは。

今回はLaura StoryさんのOpen Handsという曲を紹介します。

私たちは問題を抱えている時ほど神にゆだねるということが難しくなる傾向にあります。

神の御手の中にあるより自分の手の中にあったほうがコントロールできると思うからではないでしょうか。

しかし、本当に自分でコントロールすることが最善の方法なのでしょうか。

“But, the scripture actually teaches that whoever wants to gain their life actually has to lose it, and this idea that it’s actually the relinquishing of control of the things … that’s actually what brings peace.”

『しかし、聖書は自分の命を得ようとする者は、実際にはそれを失わなければならないと教えています。この考えは、物事をコントロールすることを放棄し、それが実際に平和をもたらすということです。』

” Worship is more of a picture of Abraham and Isaac, where we trust Him with our child, our only son. There are other examples that we see in Scripture of worship being connected to willingness to sacrifice.”

” When I think about it, you can’t think you can gain control of things by thinking they are better in my hands than in the Lord’s. When I think about everything He’s done and how faithful He’s been in my life, it seems the most rational thing to do is to release every hard thing and every big struggle and little detail and surrender those things to Him.”

『考えてみると、主の手にあるより自分の手にある方が良いと考えることで、物事をコントロールできるようになるとは思えません。主がしてくださったこと、私の人生において主がどれほど忠実であったかを考えると、あらゆる困難なこと、大きな葛藤、小さなことを解放し、それらを主に委ねることが最も合理的であるように思えるのです。』

” He gave us His son. God the Father gave us Jesus. Why wouldn’t He also freely give us whatever we need?”

『神は私たちに御子を与えてくださいました。父なる神は私たちにイエスを与えてくださいました。私たちに必要なものを何でも惜しみなく与えてくださるはずです。』

“It is more than singing those happy songs on a Sunday morning. The very core of worship is this idea of surrender, this idea of trusting God with those things most dear to us.”

『日曜の朝、楽しい歌を歌うだけではありません。礼拝の核心は降伏という考えであり、私たちにとって最も大切なものを神に信頼することなのです。』
